At The Drive In New York, 2000
It was the year 2000 and At the Drive-In delivered an explosive performance in New York. It was a night that cemented their status as one of the most exciting and vital bands in music for fans and media alike. The band were riding high and were known for their relentless energy and unparalleled live shows.
This night wasn’t just another gig - it felt like a collision of worlds. I remember Mike D from the Beastie Boys was there, which really added to the electric atmosphere. As a photographer, I had the privilege of capturing not only the band’s intensity on stage but also their off-stage moments—shooting on the streets of NYC and behind the scenes at MTV Studios.I have since seen a video of the performance and you can spot a 29-year-old me, camera in hand, fully immersed in the pit. It’s always a fun reminder of the passion and energy that drove me to document such a pivotal moment in music history.
