Description
Shot by Charles when Amy was 19, before the release of her debut album 'Frank'.
"Eventually the storm did die down, and I decided we had to go out, regardless of the time, which was close to midnight. We all jumped in a yellow cab downtown
to Noho on Layfayette. At this point with the entire original shoot concept gone
we had nothing to lose and made our way across Manhattan find corners to
slouch and pose in. Using New Yorks’ backdrop to craft what we could, to be who
we were, as Amy had said, she wanted to be her authentic self, and she was. We
mustn’t have spent more than an hour. My jet lag and her own need for sleep
took over, before we knew it, we were back uptown and getting into bed."
Amy photographed in down town Manhattan, New York in 2003.
